This specimen was lot 2939 in Steve Album Auction 51 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2025), where it sold for $102. The catalog description[1] noted, "LORRAINE: Karl III, 1625-1634, 1661-1673, AR teston, 1627, somewhat crude flan, F-VF." This type was struck 1626-32 in the name of duke Charles IV. Testons struck for Francis also exist for 1627. Numista comments, "Francis was very briefly duke in 1625 before abdicating in favor of his son, Charles IV. However, he retained the right to coin in his name, which he did from 1626 to 1631."
