This specimen was lot 1356 in Jean Elsen sale 160 (Brussels, November 2024), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"LOON, Graafschap, Lodewijk IV (1323-1336), AR volant (2/3 groot met de adelaar), Hasselt. Vz/ + LVDOVIC: COMES· LOSEN Adelaar met kop n.l. Kz/ + MONETA· NOVA· HASELNSIS Gebloemd kruis. Zeldzaam. Mooie patina. Zeer Fraai à Prachtig. Afkomstig van Jean Elsen, april 1998. (county of Loon, Louis IV, 1323-36, silver volant or two-thirds groat, Hasselt mint. Obverse: eagle dsiplayed with head to left; reverse: floriate cross. Scarce, nice patina, very fine to extremely fine.)"

The county of Loon was gradually absorbed into the prince-bishopric of Liège and comprised its northern, Dutch-speaking portion.
