Steve Album Auction 52, lot 2707

This specimen was lot 2707 in Steve Album Auction 52 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2025), where it sold for $66. The catalog description[1] noted, "SWEDISH LIVONIA: Christina, 1632-1654, AR solidus, Riga, [16]54, a lovely lustrous mint state example! PCGS graded MS63." This type was struck 1654-60 for Charles X Gustav, not Christina as stated by the auctioneers, although solidi were struck for her as well in 1654. Struck on roller dies, many of these have off-center reverses. Riga and Livonia were seized by Sweden from Poland in 1621 and retained by them until their loss to Russia in 1721.
