Jean Elsen sale 125, lot 1281

This specimen was lot 1281 in Jean Elsen sale 125 (Brussels, June 2015), where it sold for €400 (about US$532 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"LIEGE, Principauté, Siège vacant (1688), AR écu (patagon) au saint Lambert, 1688. Différent: étoile. D/ B. mitré du saint à g. R/ Ecu couronné. Rare Légères traces d'ajustage Très Beau. Provient de la collection J.-M. Chouters et de notre vente 77, 13 décembre 2003, 1330. (prince-bishopric of Liège, vacant seat (1688), silver patagon of St. Lambert, star privy mark. Obverse: mitred bust of the saint to left; reverse: crowned arms. Rare, light adjustment marks, very fine.)"
