Liege (1534) rosart
This specimen was lot 1200 in Jean Elsen sale 143 (Brussels, December 2019), where it sold for €250 (about US$157 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"LIEGE, Principauté, Erard de la Marck (1506-1538), AR rosart, s.d. (1534), Hasselt. D/ Croix ornée, fleuron en coeur, cantonnée de deux lions et de deux fleurons. R/ Deux griffons soutenant l'écu de la Marck. Au-dessus, E. Rare Frappe faible. Beau à Très Beau. (prince-bishopric of Liège, undated billon rosart, Hasselt mint. Obverse: Ornate cross, flower at center, cantonned with two lilies and two roses; reverse: two griffons support the arms of the bishop, "E" above. Weakly struck, with a punch mark on the reverse, Fine - Very Fine.)"
This type was accompanied by a demi-rosart (Chestret 448).
