This specimen was lot 735 in Jean Elsen sale 162 (Brussels, June 2025), where it sold for €170 (about US$236 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"LIÈGE, Principauté, Adolphe de la Marck (1313-1344), AR double esterlin à l'aigle (volant), 1326-1332, Avroy. D/ Aigle au vol abaissé à g., t. à d. En dessous, une étoile. R/ + MONETA (aigle) AVROTENSIS Croix ajourée et ornée. (prince-bishopric of Liège, Adolf of the Mark, 1313-44, silver double esterlin of the eagle, circa 1326-32, Avroy mint. Obverse: an eagle left, poised for flight, a star below; reverse: ornate floriate cross. Very Fine.)"

This type was also struck at Huy, where the bishop resided after he was expelled from Liège in 1324. Adolphe died in 1344 and was succeeded by his nephew Engelbert III of the Marck.
