This specimen was lot 294 in Stack's Bowers August 2020 Auction - Session 1 - U.S. Currency (Costa Mesa, CA, August 2020), where it sold for $4,800. The catalog description^[1] noted, "Rare Beverly Hills Charter, Beverly Hills, California. $5 1902 Plain Back. Fr. 609. The Liberty NB. Charter #12909. PMG Choice Very Fine 35. The Liberty National Bank is by far the rarer of Beverly Hills' two note issuing banks. This is just the seventh note known from this large size only bank. The bank was in the note issuing business for just over a year after receiving its charter in April of 1926. It was liquidated in August of the following year after issuing just $101,800 into circulation. This moderately circulated example displays original embossing and bold machine printed signatures."

This specimen was lot 5331 in Stack's Bowers March 2020 Auction - Session 8 - U.S. Currency (Costa Mesa, CA, March 2020), where it sold for $5,040. The catalog description^[1] noted, "Superb Beverly Hills $10 Plain Back, Beverly Hills, California. $10 1902 Plain Back. Fr. 635. The Liberty NB. Charter #12909. PMG Very Fine 25. Beverly Hills had two issuing financial institution, this example is from the scarcer bank which has just six large reported to the current census. The bank was only in business for less than 18 months, failing in August of 1927. This example is by far the finest of the six known. Bold signatures and massive boardwalk margins are welcomed. This note, last sold in 2012 at auction, for $8,800."

Beverly Hills had two issuing financial institution, this example is from the scarcer bank which has just six large reported to the current census. The bank was only in business for less than 18 months, failing in August of 1927. A PCGS 25 $20 sold in a 2012 auction for $8,800. This note is seen with even circulation and nice eye appeal."
