Liberia 2005 25 dollars KM-804
This specimen was lot 47955 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2026), where it sold for $264. The catalog description[1] noted, "LIBERIA. 25 Dollars, 2005. PROOF. With original case of issue." A fragment of coal was inserted into the cavity on the hull of the Titanic on the reverse. This NCLT was accompanied by a silver ten dollars (KM 1019). These coins commemorated not the sinking but a visit to the site of the wreck by RMS Titanic Inc. Wikipedia comments, "The 2000 expedition by RMS Titanic Inc. carried out 28 dives during which over 800 artefacts were recovered, including the ship's engine telegraphs, perfume vials, and watertight door gears."
