This specimen was lot 33476 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, May 2024), where it sold for $1,560. The catalog description[1] noted, "LAOS. 100000 Kip, 2004. Singapore Mint. PCGS PROOF-70 Deep Cameo. Commemorating the Black Gibbon, this technically perfect and charming example displays entrancing eye appeal, made all that much more pleasing with the holographic background. Ex: Howard A. Daniel III." Wikipedia comments, "The black crested gibbon (Nomascus concolor) is a Critically Endangered species of gibbon found in China, Laos, and northern Vietnam, with four subspecies."

Specification: 15.55 g, 0.999 fine gold, 27 mm diameter, 0.500 oz AGW.
