This specimen was lot 53324 in Stack's Bowers Hong Kong auction (Hong Kong, April 2021), where it sold for $3,240. The catalog description[1] noted, "CHINA. Kwangtung. Cent, Year 3 (1914). PCGS MS-66 Gold Shield. A brilliant Gem, struck in brass without marks or hairlines. We note some coppery toning and a die crack on the reverse for identification." This type was struck during years 1-5 of the republic along with copper issues (Y-417).

Recorded mintage: 14,750,000 including Y-417 (copper).
