This specimen was lot 75453 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "INDIA. Kutch. 5 Kori, VS 1992 (1936). Kutch Mint. Khengarji III (under Edward VIII as Emperor). PCGS Genuine--Cleaned, Unc Details." This specimen was offered again as lot 75237 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, May 2025), where it sold for $65. Shown is a five kori from the rule of Khengarji III (1875-1942 AD). This ruler enjoyed an extended reign, covering the period of four different British monarchs (all of whom were honored on the coins during their respective tenures). The example shown is dual dated 1936 AD / VS 1992, and honors Edward VIII. It is one of the few coins of the British empire which acknowledges this short-lived reign.
