This specimen was lot 75251 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2024), where it sold for $1,560. The catalog description[1] noted, "KOREA. Blue Enamel Chon, ND (1882-83). Tae Dong Treasury Mint. Kojong (as King). NGC MS-62. An impressive Mint State survivor of this popular enameled type, offering shimmering luster atop the pebbly fields and with much of the delicate blue enamel remaining." This cast coin comes with blue, green or black enamel, and is very scarce. It is normal for the enamel to be chipped, as here, or missing completely.
