This specimen was lot 53256 in Stack's Bowers Hong Kong auction (Hong Kong, April 2021), where it sold for $3,120. The catalog description[1] noted, "CHINA. Kirin. 7 Mace 2 Candareens (Dollar), CD (1900). NGC VF Details--Chopmarked. Type with large Yin-Yang in center with figure "8" within. Quite wholesome and attractively toned, this specimen exhibits a noted chopmark above the dragon, but nevertheless remains a great example of the type." The province of Kirin produced dollars in many varieties. For 1900, we note this type, with a yin/yang on the character side, and Y183, with a flower vase instead.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
