This specimen was lot 73103 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, June 2020), where it sold for $105. The catalog description[1] noted, "KENYA. 50 Cents, 1969. Kings Norton Mint. PCGS SPECIMEN-66 Gold Shield. The first year and lowest mintage date in the series, this brilliant, steel gray Gem presents tremendous brilliance and captivating luster. Provenance: Ex: Kings Norton Mint Collection." This type was struck 1969-78 and features Jomo Kenyatta, first president of Kenya.
