This specimen was lot 75836 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for $192. The catalog description[1] noted, "JAPAN. 50 Sen, Year 12 (1937). Osaka Mint. Hirohito (Showa). PCGS MS-67." This type was struck in Tokyo 1928-38. The fifty sen was 13.48 g until 1905, then 10.13 g during 1912-17, then 4.95 g during 1922-38 and brass thereafter. This is the highest mintage date.
