The specimen shown is from a type struck in Rome for Italy 1977-88, 1991, 1995, 1998 and 2001. All dates are common tho some of the proofs are scarce. This denomination was also used for a commemorative honoring Maria Montessori (KM 107).

Recorded mintage: 105,690,000 plus 48,500,000 of KM 107.

Specification: 5 g, aluminum bronze, reeded edge, 24 mm diameter.
