This specimen was lot 31006 in Heritage sale 3081 (New York, January 2020), where it sold for $1,440. The catalog description[1] noted, "Italy: Vittorio Emanuele III 20 Centesimi Anno XV (1937)-R MS64 NGC, Rome mint. An extremely rare issue with just 50 pieces struck. Specimen-like with handsome dark-gray surfaces." This type was struck 1936-38 in nickel and 1939-43 in stainless steel. This date was struck only for presentation.
