This specimen was lot 4152 in Goldberg sale 69 (Los Angeles, May, 2012), where it sold for $1,955. The catalog description [2] noted, "Italy. 20 Lire, 1912-R. Vittorio Emanuele III. Uniformed bust left. Reverse: Agricultural scene. NGC graded MS-63." This rare type is listed for four dates (1910, 1912, 1926-27). It was struck to the standard of a French twenty francs d'or. Italian gold coinage was already scanty when World War One terminated it.
