Stack's Bowers February 2023 Collector's Choice sale, lot 74074

This specimen was lot 74074 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2023), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "ITALY. 2 Lire, 1910-R. Rome Mint. Vittorio Emanuele III. NGC VF-25. A circulated yet problem free example of the type." This is a scarce date of a type struck 1908-12. The minting of silver two lire ceased in 1917.

Recorded mintage: 719,000, a scarce date.

Specification: 10 g, 0.835 fine silver, 27 mm diameter, lettered edge.
