Stephen Album internet sale 28, lot 1066

This specimen was lot 1066 in Stephen Album internet sale 28 (Santa Rosa, CA, July 2024), where it sold for $36. The catalog description[1] noted, "ITALY: Vittorio Emanuele III, 1900-1946, 20 centesimi, 1909-R, a pleasing example, PCGS graded MS61." This type was struck for the kingdom of Italy 1908-14, 1919-22 and 1926-35. It does not match any French coin as most of the other denominations did. The issues of 1926-35 were struck only for collectors and are very rare. Vittorio Emanuele III succeeded his father Umberto upon the latter's assassination in 1900.
