This specimen was lot 75167 in Stack's Bowers May 2026 World Premier Collectors Choice Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, May 2026), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "ITALY. 10 Centesimi, 1894-BI. Birmingham (Heaton) Mint. Umberto I. PCGS MS-64 Red Brown." This type of 1893-94 represented the first issue of the denomination since 1867. Worn specimens fill dealer junk boxes.
Recorded mintage: 32,000,000 plus 5,909,780 from Rome.
Specification: 10 g, copper, 30 mm diameter, plain edge, engraved by Filippo Speranza.
