This specimen was lot 3348 in Goldberg sale 85 (Los Angeles, June 2015), where it sold for $793. The catalog description[1] noted, "Israel. 100 Lirot, 1969. Weight 0.6430 ounce. On the 21st Anniversary of Independence. Shalom. Choice Brilliant Proof." This is the fourth issue of this denomination tho it is safe to say that no gold coin of Israel actually circulated. It is accompanied by a silver ten lirot (KM 53). Massive influx of aid from the United States fueled inflation and coinage reforms in 1960, 1980 and 1985.
