This specimen was lot 75675 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for $105. The catalog description[1] noted, "IRAN. 1000 Dinars, SH 1308 (1929). Tehran Mint. Reza Shah. NGC AU-58." After Reza Pahlavi overthrew the Qajars and seized the throne for himself, he continued the old denominations for several years, substituting his name and adopting a new dating system. The SH calendar is a solar version of the Hegira calendar which, being lunar based, starts on a different date each year. This type was struck SH 1306-1308
