Iran AH 1274 toman KM-861.3
This specimen was lot 2865 in Sincona Auction 101 (Zürich, October 2025), where it sold for 1,250 CHF (about US$1,884 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"IRAN Qajar Dynasty, Nasir al-Din Shah, 1264-1313 AH (1848-1896). Toman 1274 AH (1857/1858), Tehran Mint. Selten, Das neben einem weiteren durch PCGS höchstbewertete Exemplar, Rare. PCGS AU58. Tied with one other for finest certified by PCGS."
Somewhat similar tomans using different portraits of the shah were struck at Astarabad (KM 861.1), Rasht (KM 861.2), Isfahan (KM 861.4) and Tehran (shown here). Tehran struck this type in AH 1273, 1274 and 1291. The Rasht product seems to be the most common tho all are scarce.
