Iran AH 1250 toman KM-775
This specimen was lot 196 in Sincona sale 88 (Zürich, May 2024), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,
"IRAN, Qajar Dynasty, Husayn Ali Shah, 1250 AH (1834). Toman 1250 AH (1834), Shiraz Mint. Von grösster Seltenheit. Nur 3 Exemplare bekannt; Of the highest rarity. Only 3 examples known. NGC MS63. Purchased from A. Shams, Frankfurt, in 1983."
On the death of Fath 'Ali Shah, Husayn Ali seized Shiraz long enough to issue a silver kran (KM 774) and this toman. Both are rare. Wikipedia comments, "Hossein Ali Mirza (Persian: حسین علی میرزا, romanized: Ḥosayn-ʿAlī Mīrzā; 26 August 1789 – 16 January 1835), a son of Fath-Ali Shah (r. 1797–1834), was the Governor of Fars and pretender to the throne of Qajar Iran."
