This specimen was lot 47712 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2026), where it sold for $480. The catalog description[1] noted, "IRAN. Zand Dynasty. 1/4 Mohur, AH 1184 (1770/1). Qazwin Mint. Karim Khan. NGC AU-55. From the Genden Collection." This type was struck at Qazvin for years AH 1177-1192. Karim Khan was the founder and the only effective ruler of the Zands. Karim Khan's successors lacked his ability and the state soon crumbled under Qajar attacks.
