This specimen was lot 76430 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2024), where it did not sell. This specimen was offered again as lot 38763 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2025), where it sold for $720. The catalog description[1] noted, "IRAN. Safavid Dynasty. 10 Shahi, AH 1084 (1673/74). Isfahan Mint. Sulayman I. NGC EF Details--Cleaned. While displaying evidence of past cleaning, this charming 10 Shahi displays good retained details and...much charm. A presentable example of a type that seldom appears." Isfahan is the sole mint for the type. The ten and twenty shahi coins were really too large for Iranian minting technology, so were usually struck only for presentation. They normally come mounted.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 18.48 g, silver.
