India 2013-M 10 rupees
This specimen was part of lot 2472 in Steve Album Auction 52 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2025), which did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "INDIA: Republic, 2-coin proof set, 2013-M, struck at the Mumbai Mint, commemorating the 60 Years of the Coir (coconut fiber) Board, including 60 (silver) and 10 rupees, sealed in original booklet with paper sleeve; set of 2 coins." The new Rupee sign "₹" was adopted by the Government of India on 15 July 2010 and began appearing on notes and coins. The symbol had been "₨" heretofore. This type was struck at Kolkata, Hyderabad (star mintmark), Noida (pellet) and Mumbai (diamond or M). This set also included a sixty rupees (KM 486). This NCLT celebrates a topic only a government bureaucrat could love. As of July 2025, 10 rupees = US$0.117.
