This type, struck at Bombay and Calcutta 1957-63 as part of the decimal conversion, is common in all grades. The Bombay product has a diamond below the wreath. The subsequent type (KM 48) dropped the "naye" from the denomination. This coin was demonetized in 2011 but had become worthless long before.
Recorded mintage: unknown but common.
Specification: 2.42 g, nickel, 19 mm diameter, reeded edge.
