This specimen was struck in Copenhagen for the kingdom of Iceland in 1929. Two other dates exist for this type, 1929 and 1940. The kingdom was separated from Denmark in 1918 and coinage commenced with an issue of ten and twenty-five aurar in 1922. One and two kronur were added in 1925 and one, two and five aurar in 1926. The kingdom ended when Iceland declared herself a republic in 1944. This date is uncommon.
