This specimen was lot 33850 in Heritage sale 3106 (New York, January 2023), where it sold for $2,640. The catalog description[1] noted, "India: Hyderabad. Mir Usman Ali Khan gold Ashrafi AH 1364 Year 35 (1945) MS64 NGC, Hyderabad mint. An impeccably rendered Choice piece with profusely glimmering, lemondrop yellow fields adorned by the intricate designs." The Indian princely state of Hyderabad was one of the few large enough and wealthy enough to mint an extensive series of gold coins. This type, struck for Mir Usman Ali Khan (AH 1329-1367 or 1911-48 A.D.), is listed for AH1331-1364 but is still expensive.
