This specimen was lot 900 in Stephen Album sale 39 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2021), where it sold for $2,400. The catalog description[1] noted, "HYDERABAD: Sikandar Jah, 1808-1829, AV nazarana mohur, Farkhanda Bunyad, AH1237 year 16, in the name of the Mughal emperor Muhammad Akbar II, hand-cut oblique milling on the edge, AU, RR." The Indian princely state of Hyderabad was one of the few large enough and wealthy enough to mint an extensive series of gold coins. This type was struck AH 1226-1244.
