Hungary 1536-KB ducat Fr-48
This specimen was lot 2243 in Künker sale 439 (Osnabrück, March 2026), where it sold for €3,000 (about US$4,127 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH, Ferdinand I., 1522-1558-1564. Dukat 1536 KB, Kremnitz. GOLD. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. (Holy Roman Empire, Ferdinand I, 1522-64, ducat of 1536, Kremnitz mint. Very fine to extremely fine.)"
Friedberg lists this type for 1527-65 from Kremnitz (shown here), Neustadt (Fr-49) and Hermannstadt (Fr-50). The larger part of Hungary was divided between the Turks and the prince of Transylvania; Ferdinand held only a slice in the west and north.
