Hungary (1457-59)-N goldgulden Fr-16
This specimen was lot 3638 in Sincona Auction 101 (Zürich, October 2025), where it sold for 2,000 CHF (about US$3,015 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"UNGARN Wladislaus V. 1453-1457. Goldgulden o. J. (1457-1459), Nagybanya. Vorzüglich. (Hungary, Ladislaus V, 1453-57, undated goldgulden, circa 1457-59, Nagybanya mint. Extremely Fine.)"
Ladislaus was the posthumous son of Albert II of Germany and Elizabeth of Luxembourg and died himself in 1457, aged 17 years. This goldgulden was minted after his death and before his successor, Matthias Corvinus, could secure the throne.
