This type was struck 1987-92 at the Royal Mint for the British colony of Hong Kong. Proofs were struck only in 1988. A younger bust of the queen (KM 43) was used 1978-80. Her portrait was dropped for the bauhinia flower (KM 69) for 1993-97. Now reincorporated into China, regular Chinese currency is used.
Recorded mintage: unknown but common.
Specification: 7.1 g, copper-nickel, 25.5 mm diameter, reeded edge.
