Honduras 1890 centavo KM-46
This specimen was lot 1042 in Sedwick Treasure Auction 28 (Winter Park, FL, November 2020), where it sold for $900. The catalog description[1] noted, "Honduras, bronze 1 centavo, 1890, denomination 1, NGC MS 63 RB, finest known in NGC census, ex-O'Brien. Far and away the best example (the only other in the NGC census being VF and BN), with choice original color and luster over most of the surfaces, the rims slightly crude as usual but no noticeable marks or wear and boldly struck. Pedigreed to the J. O'Brien collection (stated on label)." This type was struck 1881, 1884-86, 1889-90, 1896-1907 and is probably the most common Honduran coin of the period tho choice specimens, as always, are scarce. KM 59 and KM 61 were also struck in 1890.
Reported Mintage: unknown.
Specification: 4.5 g, bronze, 20 mm diameter.
