This specimen was lot 33113 in Heritage sale 3040 (Chicago, April 2015), where it sold for $1,175. The catalog description[1] noted, "Holland. Provincial gold Ducat 1776 MS62 PCGS. With popular 1776 date. Unusually choice for the type with full golden brilliance." This type was struck without change 1702-91 and is priced in the SCWC as a common date. Holland was the largest and wealthiest part of the United Provinces, now the kingdom of the Netherlands.
