This specimen was lot 34231 in Heritage sale 3082 (New York, January 2020), where it sold for $53. The catalog description[1] noted, "Haiti: Republic Centime L'An 28 (1831) VF25 Brown NGC. Maintaining bold integral details in spite of heavy circulation." This type was struck 1827-29 in Haiti during the rule of Jean Pierre Boyer (1776-1850), president of Haiti 1822-43. Unlike many Haitian coins of the period, it bears a Common Era date as well as the revolutionary year "AN 28", counting from 1803, the year of independence from France. It was struck 1828-34, 1840-42 and is fairly common tho choice specimens are scarce.
