Guernsey 1934-H 8 doubles
This specimen was lot 34464 in Heritage sale 3067 (Long Beach, September 2018), where it sold for $288. The catalog description[1] noted, "Guernsey: British Dependency. George V Proof 8 Doubles 1934-H PR66 Brown NGC, Heaton mint. A splendid coppery red-orange example with the highlights around the devices giving-way to magenta and cobalt iridescence in the fields. Currently the highest certified specimen from NGC. Ex. Ted Reams Collection. From the Feeling Good Collection." This issue was struck at the Heaton mint for Guernsey, one of the Channel Islands, in 1914-20, 1934, 1938, 1945-49. Eight doubles = one British penny. This date is common in all grades.
