Guatemala 2000 5 centavos rev DSLR.JPG

Guatemala introduced five centavo pieces featuring the ceiba tree in 1949. Originally silver, the alloy was changed to copper-nickel in 1965, same as the United States. Many variations of the basic design exist, depending on which contractor actually produced the coin. This subtype is listed for 1997-2000 and 2006-10. The SCWC is no longer adding new dates, so this type may still be in production.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 1.60 g, copper-nickel, 16 mm diameter.

Catalog reference: KM 276.6.
