Guatemala 1928 1/4 quetzal

This type was struck for Guatemala at the Royal Mint in London 1926-29. A similar type (KM 243.2), with a slightly different quetzal, was issued 1946-49. In 1950, the denomination was redesigned to feature the bust of a Mayan woman, which design is still in use, tho no longer issued in silver. This type is somewhat scarce in nice condition and runs some money in uncirculated.
Recorded mintage: 8.33 g, 0.720 fine silver, .193 troy oz ASW, reeded edge.
