This specimen was lot 71123 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2021), where it sold for $65. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. Farthing (1/4 Penny), 1924. London Mint. George V. NGC MS-66 Red Brown. Beautifully preserved, this choice-Gem exhibits boldly struck devices with plenty of original mint red." All of the farthings of George V have the same essential design but the bust was modified several times in attempts to alleviate persistent striking problems. This subtype was struck 1918-25.
