This specimen was lot 4379 in Goldberg sale 84 (Los Angeles, January 2015), where it sold for $235. The catalog description[1] noted, "Great Britain. Sixpence, 1923. George V. One of the key dates in this series, unusually choice mint state, and a special little coin. NGC graded MS-66." This type was struck 1911-20 in sterling silver, then in 0.500 fine 1920-25, then with a modified reverse 1925-27. The lion reverse was replaced with a wreath of oak leaves for 1927-36.
Recorded mintage: 6,383,000, a better date.
Specification: 2.83 g, 0.500 fine silver, 19.5 mm diameter.
