This specimen was lot 74696 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2024), where it sold for $105. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. Shilling, 1861. London Mint. Victoria. NGC AU-53. This handsome example displays light handling, with impressive details. A more elusive date in the series." This shilling was struck 1838-87 for circulation. This is a common date.
