Stephen Album sale 43, lot 1306

This specimen was lot 1306 in Stephen Album sale 43 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2022), where it sold for $192. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN: Victoria, 1837-1901, AR sixpence, 1843, lustrous, better date, AU." This type was struck 1838-66 in large quantities with a slightly modified obverse continuing until 1887.

Recorded mintage: 3,160,000.

Specification: 2.82 g (not 3.01 g as reported in the SCWC), 0.925 fine silver, 19.3 mm diameter.
