This specimen was lot 24065 in Heritage sale 3020 (Long Beach, September 2012), where it sold for $499.38. The catalog description[1] noted, "George IV Proof Halfpenny 1826, Bare Head, Bronzed PR65 BN NGC, a premium example." This type was struck for George IV 1825-27 and was the first half penny struck since 1806. An 1826/5 overdate is noted.

Recorded mintage: 9,032,000 plus 150 proofs (shown here).
