This specimen was lot 74789 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2024), where it sold for $216. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. Farthing, 1823. George IV. NGC MS-65 Brown. Arabic '1' in date. Featuring deep brown surfaces and a sharp, exacting strike, this enticing Gem also displays a majestic degree of tantalizing brilliance." This type was struck 1821-26 and is fairly common. It is the first issue of farthings since 1806.

Recorded mintage: 2,365,400.
