This specimen was lot 46344 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2024), where it sold for $192. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. Silver 3 Shillings Bank Token, 1812. George III. PCGS MS-61." This scarce type was struck 1811-12. The photo in the SCWC shows KM Tn5 (bare bust), which was struck 1812-16. This example realized slightly over one quarter of the catalog value. These were struck by the Bank of England because the unreformed Royal Mint was completely incapable of meeting the country's need for coin.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 0.925 fine silver, 34.5 mm diameter.

Catalog reference: S-3769; KM-Tn4.
