Sincona sale 22, lot 1750

This specimen was lot 1750 in Sincona sale 22 (Zürich, May 2015), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"GROSSBRITANNIEN, George III. 1760-1820 3 Pence 1762. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. (kingdom of Great Britain, George III (1760-1820) threepence of 1762, very fine to extremely fine.)"

Threepences were minted for George II 1729-46 and 1760. This type was struck for George III 1762-66, 1770-72, 1780-86 and is fairly common.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 1.50 g, 0.925 fine silver, this specimen 1.50 g.
