Sincona sale 73, lot 1343

This specimen was lot 1343 in Sincona sale 73 (Zürich, November 2021), where it sold for 700 CHF (about US$901 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"GREAT BRITAIN | Königreich. George II. 1727-1760. 1/2 Guinea 1758, London. Old head. Fast vorzüglich. (kingdom of Great Britain, George II, 1727-60, half guinea of 1758, old head. About extremely fine.)"

This type was struck 1747-60 and is by far the most affordable gold coin of George II.

Specification: 4.175 g, 0.917 fine gold, this specimen 3.92 g.
